International Training / Qualifications / Experience
Dr. Ho Kok Sen graduated from the National University of Singapore (1997). Following two years in general dental practice at the National Dental Centre and the National University Hospital, he went on to complete his residency in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and successfully obtained his Masters of Dental Surgery. He also gained his Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons by examination and was admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore.
He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the National University of Singapore where he is involved in the teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates. In addition, Dr. Ho is mentor, lecturer and examiner to students in the Graduate Diploma in Dental Implantology course at the National University of Singapore. He has received accolades for academic and clinical excellence in dental school including being on the Dean's List with distinctions in Anatomy, Dental Materials and Fixed & Removable Prosthodontics. He was also awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal for best overall graduate.
Dr. Ho received extensive training in dental implantology, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma and dentoalveolar surgery during his basic and advanced specialty training. He continues to be an active educator, having lectured regionally in countries like Thailand, Hong Kong, India and Indonesia, and is keen to share and exchange ideas with his peers and colleagues. In addition, Dr. Ho has published articles in professional journals and has conducted hands-on and observational courses for dentists both locally and internationally.
His current research interest involves the use of bio-resorbable scaffolds for ridge preservation prior to implant placement. For his efforts during the SARS crisis, Dr. Ho was awarded the Medal of Commendation by the President of the Republic of Singapore at the 2003 National Day Awards.
